Kerrang Radio feature Jacks on ’Challenge Rachel’

The Ugly Phil Breakfast Show on Kerrang Radio 105.2 asked Jack of London to help them with their ’Challenge Rachel’ feature whereby each week Rachel has a week to master a different skill.

Last week our Jacks of London Birmingham Branch set Rachel the challenge of learning how to undertake a Traditional Cut-throat shave in a week and to then perform a shave on the Breakfast show host Ugly Phil LIVE in the studio!! Needless to say Phil was a little panicked!!

But he needn’t have worried, Chris Panyades, Manager of our Birmingham branch took her under his wing. Rachel visited Jacks of London in Birmingham every day for a week and by all accounts was a natural! The training included practicing on balloons to start off with, then moving onto live models with no blade and finally she took the plunge, with various Kerrang Breakfast show colleagues brave enough to step up as her guinea pigs! Chris watched Rachel carefully throughout the whole process and live clips of Rachel’s training were played on Kerrang Radio.

Finally Rachel faced her final challenge - to give Ugly Phil a Traditional Cut-throat shave live in the studio. It was a bit nerve racking for some but Chris from Jacks said "I definitely think that’s a pass and to learn this skill in a week Rachel has done really well."

Ugly Phil finished off by saying "It feels great and I imagine with the full experience at Jacks of London by an experienced shaving professional it would be even more fantastic!"
